Another Halloween finish...
I do admit my favorite holiday to stitch is Halloween! Here is another finish. It is Waxing Moons 'Eat Drink and Be Scary' last night. It is stitched on 28 ct Jobelan called Dense Fog.

Another little ornament finish...
Stitched up this Little House Needleworks freebie called "Seven Pines" this weekend. I probably should have used a darker fabric so the white would stand out, but was too lazy to go downstairs and dig through the stash LOL! This is stitched on 28 count Platinum lugana.

First finishes of 2014
I stitched up this little cardinal from the 2013 Just Cross Stitch Christmas ornament magazine. I added a bit to his tail like Carol did (stitchingdream.blogspot.com) and since I didn't have the star button either so I sort of copied Carol again (sorry Carol!) Still I think it's cute!
I also stitched up a Val's Stuff snowman. He is on light blue lugana, but the color looks grey here.
The last picture is a Prairie Schooler that I am almost done with...just more white stitching....

Final 2013 finish
Finished this up on 12/30/13. It is a Lizzie Kate piece called "Snow". Just have to add the brass snowflake charm after I iron it up. Happy New Year everyone! Can't decide what to make my new years stitching start. I think I would like to do an ornament a month (ala my friend Carol at stitchingdream.blogspot.com)

A Halloween finish
Started this mid-October and finished on 12/1. Told ya I'm slow! Not ironed, and still need to add 2 pumpkin buttons and a crescent moon button after ironing.
Stitched on 28 count PTP Monster Mash linen.

Finally back....
I finally finished stitching something...only took me 9 months! And a LOT of black Splendor silk! The fabric is a good bit more orange (it is 32 count Belfast in VooDoo from Picture This Plus) than this shows and its not ironed yet!

A finish!
I finally finished Bent Creek's "Warm Hearts" kit. It was a fun stitch, but lots of white! Here is a picture...not ironed yet and the button is therefore not sewn on yet, but you get the idea!

April!?!? Where is this year going??
I absolutely cannot believe it is APRIL already! That is crazy! The year is flying by. My dad always told me it goes faster as you get older...he was right (as usual!!)
I have been stitching on some little snowmen that I NEED to finish! I want to get to an easter piece! There is just a lot of white thread stitching on these snowmen and I tend to stitch slower with white because it never looks 'neat' to me!
Yesterday I made Pumpkin Bread. It is so good, and really easy. Here is a link to the recipe http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/easy-pumpkin-bread-recipe I do substitute cinnamon for the nutmeg as we don't really care for nutmeg at our house. It makes two loaves so I usually send one to work with DH and his co-workers have all said they love it!
Have a great first week of April! I will post a picture of the snowmen as soon as I finish!

Beautiful weather and scones!
We had such a nice weekend. The weather has been great and its getting cooler again, but that is OK. As long as we don't get a freak snowstorm now, we will be good!
Made these http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/strawberries-and-cream-scones-recipe Strawberry & Cream Scones yesterday. They were SOO yummy!
No stitching again this weekend but hopefully this week!

Spring is here!
We are loving this early Spring 80 degree weather! Here are a few pictures. The First one is sunrise on the first day of Spring, and the second is our cherry tree blossoming! Needless to say, I have done ZERO stitching because I have been sitting enjoying the nice breezes! I wish I had a front porch because then I might stitch and sit, but for now I just have a step to sit on !

A finish!
I finally finished "Deer Friends" by Becky Boos. Well I have to sew the nose buttons on the reindeer but want to iron it first! Here it is, still in Qsnaps!
We went to the Home & Garden show recently and this is one of the gardens they had set up. Makes you think Spring will be here soon!

Photo of a finish
I finally took a not-so-great photo (had to use my cell phone) of my stitched HO HO HO by Lizzie Kate. I still need to sew three small buttons on the wreath, but here it is:

Tuesday 2/7
How's that for an original title? HA!
So I don't know if I ever mentioned it but I also like to scrapbook, and make cards. I recently purchased a stamp that I just love to make some Valentine cards which I need to do soon! Here is a picture of how it will look when done. I just thought it was SO cute!
Anyway, not much else new....just been catching up on blog reading and last night we watched a cute movie "No Strings Attached". It had Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher in it.

Wow that was a fast weekend!
I cannot believe this past weekend went SO fast! Didn't do much on Saturday because I somehow hurt my knee on Friday and it was really sore Saturday, so I just sat and iced it a lot. DH made a yummy meal with leftover sausage and rice for us.
Sunday was a quick trip out to the cemetery, which is almost unheard of in February normally! But since we have NO SNOW and it was in the 40's it was nice. Then I stitched during the Super Bowl and watched the commericals. I got a good bit done on "Deer Friends"...hoping to finish it by next Sunday!
Work started out good this morning...the account that never balances for me balanced on the first try! I was SO excited! Have a great week!

Pretty quiet....
Things have been really quiet around here lately. We have not really had any snow, which is NICE! Normally at this time of the year we have a continuous 5" or more on the ground. We had a little last week then it rained and melted away. The last few days it has been 50 degrees out! Love it! I am sure we will pay for it eventually though...will probably have snow until June or something! Today is Groundhog Day. They said that Phil in PA saw his shadow so six more weeks of winter.
I have been looking at the Mirabilia Facebook page everyday lately. Oh those ladies do beautiful work! I have stitched one Mirabilia, "Waiting for Ships" and I still need to get it framed. I should save up and send it to Jill Rensel I suppose. I wish I was a faster stitcher so I could do another Mirabilia, but lately I have been sticking to smaller pieces. I am still working on "Deer Friends" by Becky Boos. It is fun and easy since its on 10 count fabric, but still is taking me awhile.
Other than watching American Idol (boring), I have been trying to clean the house. Sort of a pre-Spring Cleaning. I got some new to me spray cleaner...Method Lavendar spray. Oh I love it! Works great and I don't feel like I am using so many chemicals!
Well, better get back to work! Have a great day!
